FAQ

What if I need to cancel or change my scheduled tour?

Life happens, therefore refunds are possible as long as the cancellation is made no later than two hours before the scheduled start of the tour for individual travelers. Groups of 8 or more need to cancel at least 12 hours before the scheduled start of the tour.

What if the weather acts up?

Tours take place rain or shine. Please bring an umbrella or rain poncho just in case, and check the weather before the tour. It’s also possible to make a few stops in air-conditioned buildings, especially during our French Quarter tour, just to cool off on very warm days.

Is this a family-friendly tour?

The Crescent City’s history is full of fascinating characters, and they all come to life during our tours. Aristocrats, privateers, fur traders, steamboat captains, merchants and opera divas all lived in the French Quarter and/or Garden District. Tours are targeted for adults and children ages 10 and up. Children ages 6 and younger always attend free of charge.

What should I wear?

The streets and sidewalks of New Orleans often have potholes and uneven pavement, so please wear comfortable shoes and watch your step. Also, New Orleans has a subtropical climate. It’s a good idea to wear sunscreen, bring water and wear a hat, especially during the hot summer months.

Are tours handicapped accessible?

Visitors who have trouble standing or walking for up to two hours may find these tours too challenging.

Gratuities

Tips are not expected, but are always greatly appreciated whenever you feel a tour has met or exceeded expectations.

How long are the tours?

Each walking tour lasts about two hours. Please arrive a few minutes early to guarantee a prompt departure at the scheduled time. Customized tours can also be arranged to satisfy a visitor’s special interests. Such tours — set up well in advance — can be designed to last up to 12 hours.
